Freelance wrapped 2023, It's my seventh year of freelancing but I have never shared my wrapped before, so I would like to share my numbers & lessons. I'm grateful for the whole journey, gratitude on gratitude.

@graceongrid inspires this post.

In short this year in the freelance side was amazing:

  • Worked with 8 Clients

  • Build 4 websites on Framer and Webflow

  • Started building my online portfolio

  • Shared resources in Figma Community and grew to 1.1k duplicates

In the past year, I've made a conscious effort to build more connections, both in person and online. I'm hoping that these connections will impact my growth metrics in the next year. This year has been a good one, with a lot of requests, mostly from people I know through past work or recommendations. I don't remember where a large portion of the requests (12) came from, but some of them were successful and some weren't.

This year saw a steady stream of meetings, averaging quite high for each inquiry. While I may have overbooked a bit (first-year tracking woes!), it was a valuable learning experience. Hindsight reveals some meetings I could have skipped, reserving my energy for projects that truly sparked my mind. But the 11 that blossomed into contracts? Pure joy! Their progress, and the final deliveries, left me incredibly satisfied. This year showed me the importance of selectivity.

I really enjoy doing web design in general. In the past year, I've wanted to push more the use of Framer and Webflow as tools in my toolbox to offer a better service. Product design projects were few but had the highest average ticket. I'm looking to continue growing in this area and that's why I want to keep them as the axis of my portfolio. At the same time, I would like to gradually reduce the services I offer but raising the quality of them.

I am still a work in progress, but I am grateful for the lessons I have learned in this year as a freelancer. I have learned the importance of setting boundaries with clients, working asynchronously, and taking care of my mental health. I am still working on overcoming the imposter syndrome, but I am committed to growing as a professional.

This year's mantra was "gratitude on gratitude"

I'm excited to continue collaborating with other creatives on exciting projects in 2024. If you need a freelancer to work on UI design, Framer, or Webflow development, I'm available for February.
